A message from Still Aware’s Founder; Claire Foord…watch here
We would also like to invite you to stand with us in our Army Against Stillbirth. In 20 years stillbirth statistics have not changed in Australia, and we think it’s time to make people listen! We need to stand up for what is right, to save babies lives.
Please join us and stand against stillbirth in a virtual protest on the 6th of every month. We are asking you to change your profile picture on Facebook for at least 24 hours on the 6th of every month and share a photo on Instagram of the image (choose one from above) that represents your scenario. Whether you are a parent, a grandparent, an Aunty/Uncle or a friend of a child born silently into this world, you can take a stand.

Stillbirth is the leading cause of death amongst children.
Stillbirth is double the national road toll. Stillbirth is often preventable.
It’s time for change! I am giving my voice for the thousands that don’t get theirs.

We are recruiting a Volunteer Team Leader to take charge in standing up against stillbirth. If this is you – please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Every day in Australia 6 babies are dying. We do not see it, these deaths are hidden, these deaths are silent – these babies are stillborn. Stillbirth is not inevitable, rather it can often be prevented. Yet rates have not changed in 20 years.
Stillbirth is 14 times more common than SIDS.
Stillbirth is double the amount of national road toll.
Stillbirth is the number one cause of death among infants in Australia.
This is not ok – we want change.
The Army Against Stillbirth is community standing united against stillbirth. A monthly silent vigil, a peaceful protest for change.
Please be mindful that our voice can be loud, but subtle. By standing together, we are creating a visual for these babies. Our voice doesn’t have to be loud, as such we are standing up in silence, against the silence. This silent protest is for the 44,000 babies in the last 20 years, that have been stillborn in Australia. It is for every little life that we stand united in a peaceful protest.
Please be aware of our Protest Guidelines:
– Our physical presence will make the best impact
– This will be a peaceful protest
– No offensive language or shouting
– We will stand in silence, in honour of the 6 babies born in silence every day in Australia
